The Bodily Turn: New Directions in the History of Emotions by Barbara H. Rosenwein (Loyola University Chicago). The inaugural keynote lecture of the IMM18 will be held on Monday 25th June at 15.00h at Saló Víctor Siurana.

 Irreducible ambiguity: interethnic coexistence in a medieval society by Piotr Gorecki (University of California, Riverside). The inaugural keynote lecture of the IMM18 will be held on Monday 25th June at 16.00h at Saló Víctor Siurana.


"Art and liturgy in Catalonia during the Middle Ages"

On Wednesday 27th June we will dedicate special attention to "Art and liturgy in Catalonia during the Middle Ages", in honour of one of its leading scholars, Dr. Francesc Fité (Universitat de Lleida), on the occasion of his 70th birthday.

Events programme

Our events programme includes an excursion by coach to places of historical interest in the area. On Tuesday afternoon we will visit the Barony of Oïsme, the village of Àger and its collegiate church, and the former Premonstratensian Monastery of Bellpuig de les Avellanes. While the excursion is free of charge for conference participants it is necessary to reserve a place on the coach ahead of the event. Excursion registration, here.
